Reese’s Cups were a pretty significant part of my childhood. My grandmother had an extra refrigerator in the garage with literally nothing but bags and bags of Reese’s Cups in the freezer – they were her favorite candy. My younger brother and I would sneak into the garage, scarf a couple down, and throw the wrappers behind the refrigerator to hide the evidence.
And, well, because my last name is Rees my mom has always called my brother, sister, and I her “reese’s pieces.”
Today I created a vegan version of my once favorite candy. I followed The Vegan Diner’s recipe - except instead of 1/4 cup powdered sugar I used 3 Tbs.
It was a messy but delicious project.
